Training Beliefs

Safety

- Safety is number one on the list . Without safe practices neither horse nor rider will feel comfortable enough to learn the lesson at hand. I recommend always riding with proper equipment and clothing, including a helmet. A safe horse and rider is a happy horse and rider.

Respect

- Horses are large and powerful creatures, and as a rider/handler you should exhibit the utmost respect for them. By knowing what your horse is capable of, it allows you to better understand your horse and to be better able to work safely and effectively with the animal. However, a horse should be taught to have respect for humans as well. You, as the rider/handler, are the herd leader, and your horse must understand and respect this fact.

Simple and consistent - Horses and people learn best when the lesson is exhibited to them in a simple, understandable manner. Remember, every time you handle your horse you are training it. Horse’s don’t have a train on/train off button, therefore, you must always be consistent in your practices.
